What is a doula?
The word doula is a Greek word meaning woman’s servant. A doula is a professional trained in childbirth who provides emotional, physical, and educational support to an expecting mother before, during and after labor and delivery. Postpartum doulas also provide support during the postpartum period. While doulas are not medically trained, and do not provide any medical care, they are resources of knowledge and advocates for the mother.
I believe that we are all born to make an impact. Growing up, I was drawn to the idea of birth, and after graduating college the opportunity to pursue doula work firsthand presented itself in the form of a workshop.
A few months later, I completed my DONA approved birth doula training at Bini Birth in Sherman Oaks, California. I am currently residing in Maine and pursuing certification through DONA International.
Your birth ceremony is a sacred part of your motherhood journey, and I am dedicated to making it an empowering and memorable experience for you, your partner and your baby. I am a strong advocate for a doula for every woman who wants one.
As an offshoot of Earth Baby Birth Doula Services, Earth Goddess empowers women to feel comfortable in their own skin through individualized and uplifting photo shoots. Paired with these unique sessions is an online Etsy shop that donates 10% of proceeds to organizations that help women in need.
